New Name, Same Heart

On the 17th of February, our centres founder Ewelina and it’s manager Lorna, sat down to make a very important decision…

As most of you may know, we are based in the heart of Queen Camel, at The Old School. When we began operating in August of last year, we decided to call ourselves ‘The Old School’ Day Centre simply for ease, a temporary name to establish our whereabouts.

In February, we started to feel our name was becoming confusing with other businesses working at the old school, and, as well, we became in dyer need of a better name that suited our ethos.

Thus was born, “The Willows Day Centre.”

Lorna and Ewelina decided on the name through the metaphoric symbolism of a willow tree, and how its branches are reached out; much like how the centre reaches out to those vulnerable and elderly in need of support.

Now, was time for the rebrand. We wanted to keep our logo in its simplicity, and try and avoid confusion by changing up designs and colours. Therefore, we simply added a beautiful willow tree alongside our original logo!

Of course, despite our slight identity change, our centre operates as normal and continues to welcome new members on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, with the hope to introduce Tuesdays and Thursdays in the near future.

We are all so happy to finally have a formal identity for our lovely centre, this is truly only the beginning of a wonderful journey!
