The Willows And Alzheimers Society
With less than a month to go until our Easter Bingo Event, we’d like to dive into a few of the reasons we chose to support Alzheimers Society in fundraising!
The charity made 170,000 Welfare Calls to people affected by dementia. So far, over 40,000 people have received calls from their specialist Dementia Advisers who check in regularly to make sure people can access food, medication, and appropriate support. This completely resonates with us here at The Willows, we understand that companionship is essential for those suffering. We are also incredibly impressed by these numbers and loved the thought of our fundraising bringing a smile to those who are lonely.
Furthermore, we know Alzheimers Society put their heart and soul into all of their research. They’ve conducted and executed micro-studies correlating the likes of Fitness and Alzheimers, and offer advice to better symptoms and dealing with dementia. This advice, has helped us at the centre gain a better understanding of how we can stimulate the brains of our members.
And finally, we wanted to host a fundraiser for a charity that is extremely close to our hearts. As stated, Alzheimers Society research has guided us in times of uncertainty with our members, and have created a healthy, supportive community network for help. And, of course, many of our members suffer with Alzheimers and face the struggles the disease comes with every single day, therefore it feels nice to know we are not alone.
